  • Price: $50/person. All classes held at Arya Bhavan restaurant. 
  • Registration required. No walk-ins. 48-hour notice needed for cancellations.

Vegan by birth, Chef Kirti is the heart of Arya Bhavan. She has always had a big passion for healthy cooking and has made it her mission to teach others how to make food that is good for the body, the mind, and the soul.

This is a slightly different class where we go in the kitchen and beyond! Explore the powerful benefit of spices and herbs through a staple Indian entree, a useful base ingredient for many dishes, and the secret recipe to make your own, all-natural hair product.

  • Thai Chili Garlic Paste: a versatile ingredient you can put in your vegetables and lentils dishes to add a ton of flavor and get the powerful health benefits of thai chili and garlic
  • Bhindi Masala: a recipe that teaches you how to make the most of the nutritious okra
  • Homemade Leave-in Hair Mask: this is not an edible dish but it will do wonders for your hair! A natural product with coconut oil and herbs that helps your hair grow and regain its strength and luminosity (while smelling great!)

Cooking with Indian Masala

Learn to master healthy cooking with masala, a super spice mix that is a staple of Indian cuisine. One of our most popular classes!

  • Masala Dosa: thin crepe you can stuff with spiced potatoes and onions, with a side of chutni
  • Chana Masala: a chickpeas-based, high-protein Indian dish and Arya Bhavan favorite

Indian Lentils Dishes

A versatile and nutritious ingredient, lentils are a huge part of Indian cuisine. In this class, you will learn how to cook with lentils to make dishes that are rich in fiber and protein:

  • Yellow Lentils Soup: classic Indian soup with ginger, garlic, cumin, tomato and onion
  • Utta Pam (has gluten): lentil and rice pancake with fresh vegetables and chutney
  • Arya Bhavan’s black lentils dish​

Yes, vegetables are good for you and should be a BIG part of your diet. But how do you keep your vegetables dishes varied? Our Veggie Feast classes are a good start! Learn how to make 3 tasty vegetable dishes that will satisfy your taste buds, your belly, and your health:

  • Indo-Chinese Soup: a hot & sour tasty treat
  • Indian Spinach & Eggplant Dish: flavored with Indian spices
  • Tindora: a popular Indian dish based on its name-sake green vegetable and flavored with Ayurvedic spices

Indian Veggie Feast 2

Yes, vegetables are good for you and should be a BIG part of your diet. But how do you keep your vegetables dishes varied? Learn how to make 3 tasty vegetable dishes that will satisfy your taste buds, your belly, and your health. NOTE: Veggie Feast 1 is NOT a requirement for this class. The two classes are independent from each other.

  • Indian Vegetable Drumsticks: an anti-bacterial and detoxifying vegetable cooked with chickpea flour; the moringa vegetable contains all the vitamins, minerals and 18 of the 20 amino acids the human body needs
  • Indian Green Beans & Eggplant Dish: flavored with Indian spices
  • Chinese Okra: a great source of essential nutrients like vitamin A, potassium, manganese and fiber
